This October, we celebrate the graduation ceremony of the 8th cohort of the Bachelor’s Degree in Security, an academic milestone presided over by Rector Joan Guàrdia Olmos, with the participation of Núria Parlon, Minister of Interior and Public Security, and Marta Roca Fina, Director of the Institute of Public Security of Catalonia (ISPC).
With 54 new graduates (12 women and 42 men), the programme now reaches a total of 412 trained professionals, consolidating more than a decade of continuous collaboration between academia and practitioners across the security ecosystem. This pioneering degree remains a benchmark in professional security education in Catalonia.
The success of the programme has been made possible thanks to the support of organisations and private-sector partners that have provided internships, technical visits, and direct engagement with students, including their participation in the 1st Employment and Career Development Day, held last April with outstanding reception and impact.
International mobility continues to play a central role in the academic experience. The programme maintains active exchange agreements with universities in Turin, Prague, Krakow, Berlin, Hamburg, and Vantaa, offering students a broader understanding of global security challenges and solutions.
Employment outcomes for graduates remain extremely positive: 84% of alumni are currently employed, and many continue advancing their expertise through postgraduate and master’s programmes.
Congratulations to all graduates, and heartfelt thanks to the faculty, professionals, and partners who make this transformative project possible.
